When I arrived at the scene some people were standing in a group.
They were speculating about all that had happened the past week and that day and it was clear that many people had seen the victim, but also many people had seen the cars in the morning.
The district police officer came standing with us too.
Maybe he lacked company, maybe he wanted to listen in, I don't know.
He asked me if I had called the pressofficier.
I asked him why. As the pressoffocier says nothing more than I already know and perhaps I know even more. I assumed a hidden agenda.
The people in the neighbourhood were told to say nothing about the case. Maybe they wanted me to shut up too. So it was better to keep my distance from that officer.
A woman neared on het bycicle. She asked what had happened, but the policeman said: Ïcan't say anything". She asked me. I said: "He can't say anything and all I know is that on twitter someone said shots had been fired.". The policeofficer looked strange at me.
I almost saw him think that he was amazed I didn't put things down as facts, and refereed to social media everyone can access.
Before I had spoken with people who had seen the shooters, who heard the shots. But people had different accounts.
One saw that several shooters were standing at different sides of a policegroup, another saw there had been a shot towards the little streetmemorial.
The woman was clearly very upset. She had seen the victim, witnessed the agressive cars in the morning and clearly wanted the policeman to say something nice to her.
But he didn't say anything.
Then I told him that something needed to be done to give the people a feeling of safety and security. I didn't ask him, I ordered him. I was surprised by the way I felt and by the way I was speaking.
But I really worried about the safety of the children in the neighbourhood. None dared to leave the house, parents brought their 20 year old kids to their appointments, the tension was alsmost touchable.
Ofcourse the policeman didn't do what I asked.
He stood there as a statue and , like we had an agreement, everybody ignored him completely.
After two minutes he left and went to the intercom at the policecar.
20 mintes later a policevan with 6 policemen arrived.
