Jan Blokker died at the age of 83

Jan Blokker was a very impressive journalist and artist.
He was born in Amsterdam, and got journalism every week as a spoonful at the cinema's journal he watched with his father.
He never finished his literary studies, but he created a career which was diverse and intense.
As a columnist he wrote for the best national papers, he edited for TV, wrote for the movies and even wrote childrenbooks under the names Okko Schuit en Ardo Flakkeberg.

He received lots of prizes and was decorated by the Queen.

A few years ago he wrote with his sons two historical works in 2005 and 2006 and yesterday he wrote his last column.

83 he was. 83!!

He will be missed by many.
