Donations to Auschwitz

Auschwitz was one of the German concentration camps in WW2.
1.1 million people were killed there until the Russians freed the few people who survived the ordeal.

To Europeans, and hopefully the whole world Auschwitz is a symbol for what happens when people get lost within themselves and lose humanity in themselves.

Auschwitz-Birkenau (as it's also called) is the symbol of the Holocaust, racism, preconceptions and hatred.
Hatred towards unknown people.

And, though often forgotten, it's also the symbol of what people do who follow the orders of others without thinking and without using the own conscience.

Auschwitz was built to excist for a short time, and was never meant to be a monument for history.
So the buildings are decaying fast and when we want to keep this important place we need money.
100 million euro.

Germany gave 60 million, and recently the USA donated 15 million.
