recognition in autism

Today I had one of the finests examples of the working of the brain of an autistic boy.

In a TV program we saw a familiar person as a guest, but we didn't recognise him.

I was looking at his face and gestures and listened carefully to his voice.

My son was the one who came up with his name.

"How do you know?", I asked.

"Oh, I just took the programs we look in my mind and fitted the backgrounds to him.
The one of the musicals fitted him, so then I knew his name."

Wow!

Thank you!!!
